Objectives of GFA

OBJECTIVES OF THE ASSOCIATION

1. To promote the game of football throughout The Gambia by striving to increase its popularity and by raising general standards;
2. To promote the spirit of sportsmanship within the game of football both inside and outside The Gambia.
3. To promote public interest in the game of football and increase public awareness of the requirements for its development in The Gambia.
4. To work closely with the Government of The Gambia, through the Department of State for Youth, and Sports and, other Bodies, Institutions and Organisations interested in the game of football in and outside The Gambia in pursuance of its aims and objectives;
5. To promote, carryout or sponsor within the limits of its means and possibilities, the continuous training of players, referees and other officials connected with football;
6. To ensure the effective participation of The Gambia in all International Football Competitions that may, from time to time, be organised at all levels;
7. To develop and promote friendly relations between The Gambia and sister member countries of CAF, FIFA and WAFU;
8. In the name of The Gambia, to assume membership and ensure effective participation in Football Organisations like CAF, FIFA, WAFU, and other similar organisations created in pursuance of similar objects;
9. To acquire, lease or otherwise any land, premises or property anywhere in The Gambia for use as Football Fields or other sporting activities, and to build or otherwise provide recreational facilities including boarding and other conveniences there with, and to maintain the same and to permit the same to be used by members of the GFA gratuitously or for payment;
10. To accept subscriptions and donations and advise, and bequests for all or any of the aforesaid purposes;
11. To hire and employ persons considered necessary for the purposes of the Association.
12. To borrow or raise money by whatsoever means and to give security for such money upon all or any part of the property of the Association;
13. To invest and deal with moneys of the Association not immediately required upon securities and in such manner as may from time to time be determined; and
14. To do all such other things as are incidental or conducive to the attainment of the above objects or any of them.
